Cap IKZ 200 is an oral antifungal medication containing Itraconazole, a broad-spectrum triazole antifungal agent. It works by inhibiting the synthesis of ergosterol, a vital component of the fungal cell membrane, thereby weakening and killing the fungus.

Itraconazole inhibits fungal cytochrome P450 enzyme 14ฮฑ-demethylase, which is required to convert lanosterol to ergosterol โ€” a key component of the fungal cell membrane. Without ergosterol, the fungal membrane becomes permeable and dysfunctional, leading to fungal cell death.

  1. Take with a full meal or immediately after food for best absorption.
  2. Swallow the capsule whole with water. Do not open, crush, or chew.
  3. Avoid antacids or acid-suppressing agents (e.g., omeprazole) within 2 hours of taking Itraconazole, as acidity enhances absorption.
