📌 PRODUCT INTRODUCTION

Santabact-AZ 250 Tablet contains Clarithromycin, a macrolide antibiotic used to treat a variety of bacterial infections, especially of the respiratory tract, skin, and soft tissues. It works by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis, thereby halting the growth of infection-causing bacteria.

Clarithromycin is structurally related to erythromycin but offers enhanced stability, improved absorption, and a broader antimicrobial spectrum, including activity against atypical pathogens such as Mycoplasma pneumoniae and Chlamydia pneumoniae.

It is frequently used in both community and hospital settings for infections where first-line antibiotics are ineffective or contraindicated.

  • Acute and chronic bronchitis
  • Pharyngitis and tonsillitis

⚙️ HOW SANTABACT-AZ 250 WORKS

Clarithromycin binds to the 50S ribosomal subunit of bacteria, preventing translocation and inhibiting protein synthesis, leading to bacterial growth arrest and death. It is bacteriostatic, but may act bactericidal at higher concentrations against certain pathogens.
